Executive Function Skills


Executive Functioning skills are an “umbrella construct that includes a collection of inter-related functions that are responsible for purposeful, goal-directed, problem-solving behavior” (taken from the BREIF Professional Manual) Areas included in executive functioning are; response inhibition, emotional regulation, task initiation, sustained attention, cognitive flexibility, working memory, self monitoring, planning/ organizing and time management.
